Course Outline
Start: Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building
The race begins at the iconic Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building in Shinjuku. Runners are greeted by cheering crowds as they embark on their journey through Tokyo.
Key Course Highlights:
Shinjuku
A bustling district known for its skyscrapers and vibrant energy. The early kilometers showcase Tokyo’s modern architecture.
Lidabashi
The course winds through this historic area near the Imperial Palace, offering views of the water canals and greenery.
Asakusa and Senso-ji Temple
Runners pass through the Asakusa district, a cultural hub featuring the famous Senso-ji Temple, one of Tokyo’s most beloved landmarks.
Ryogoku and the Edo-Tokyo Museum
This area is known as the heart of sumo wrestling. The route offers views of the Edo-Tokyo Museum, celebrating the city’s rich history.
Ginza
A chic shopping district filled with luxury boutiques and high-end stores. The lively atmosphere adds an exciting mid-race boost.
Hibiya and Tokyo Station
The course takes runners past Hibiya Park and the beautifully restored Tokyo Station, and architectural gem blending tradition and modernity.
Toyosu and Ariake
The race moves towards Tokyo Bay, showcasing modern waterfront developments and iconic bridges.
Finish: Tokyo Station (Gyoko-dori)
This finish line is set near Gyoko-dori, in front of the Imperial Palace and Tokyo Station. The historic setting contrasts beautifully with the ultramodern skyline.
