Package Daily Itinerary:
Friday 28th August 2026:
Arrive in Sydney on Friday, the 28th of August, and make your way to your Sydney Accommodation (QT Sydney or Rydges Darling Square Apartment Hotel)
We suggest visiting the expo to collect your race pack and bib, etc. As Saturday tends to be even busier.
Then will then be a hosted afternoon Sydney Harbour Cruise, which the Marathon Tours NZ team will be on.
Location: Depature point TBC (Circular Quay or Darling Harbour)
Boat: Starship Aqua
Time: 4:30 pm – 5:30 pm

As it’s the day before race day, you will want to be deliberate and cautious about the amount of walking you are doing. Which we understand is hard, as you want to make the most of your time in the beautiful city of Sydney.
We suggest making sure you are prepared for race day with the necessary fuel, food and hydration. As it’s an early start on race morning, you will not want to leave anything until then.

Make your way to the starting corrals via the train, and ensure you are there with time to stretch, warm up and use the toilet facilities provided.

The TCS Sydney Marathon is a spectacular race that takes participants through the heart of one of the world’s most iconic cities, showcasing breathtaking views of Sydney’s landmarks and vibrant streets. Here’s a breakdown of the course:
Starting Point: Milsons Point (North Sydney)
The marathon begins near Bradfield Park, under the northern approach of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Runner immediately feel the excitement of starting with one of the world’s most famous landmarks in sight.
Key Segments of the Course:
- Sydney Harbour Bridge (KM 1-3)
Runners cross the Harbour Bridge with traffic-free lanes, offering stunning views of the Opera House, Circular Quay, and Sydney Harbour.
- Circular Quay and The Rocks (KM 4-7)
The course winds through historic areas with cobblestone streets and vibrant city life, passing the iconic Sydney Opera House.
- Centennial Parklands (KM 8-21)
A longer stretch through Centennial Park, a serene urban park filled with greenery and wide-open spaces. This part of the course provides some relief from the bustling city.
- Eastern Suburbs (KM 22-30)
The route ventures through the picturesque neighborhoods of the Eastern Suburbs, including Rose Bay and Double Bay, with glimpses of waterfront scenery.
- Botanic Gardens and Woolloomoolo (KM 31-35)
Heading back towards the city, runners enjoy the tranquility of the Royal Botanic Gardens and pass landmarks like the Art Gallery of NSW.
- Sydney CBD and Barangaroo (KM 36-40)
The final kilometers take participants through Sydney’s vibrant central business district and the modern Barangaroo precinct.
Finish Line:
- Sydney Opera House Forecourt
The marathon concludes in dramatic style at the Opera House forecourt, offering runners a triumphant finish with unparalleled views of Sydney Harbour.
