Course Overview
Start / Finish: Both at the Rio Serrano Hotel + Spa, Villa Serrano
Route Type: Point-to-point course through Torres del Paine National Park, exiting the park with 3km remaining to the shared finish line at Rio Serrano Hotel + Spa
Surface: Approximately 100% unpaved gravel roads with natural terrain features – no asphalt or paved roads
Elevation Gain: Approximately 700 meters
Elevation Range: From 21 meters to 260 meters above sea level
Terrain: Undulating, with multiple hills and gentle climbs; no high-altitude exposure but frequent elevation shifts
Weather: Autumn conditions (May): Cold temperatures (1C-13C); strong, unpredictable Patagonian winds; possibility of light rain, fog, or low visibility
Course Highlights
Start line: Rio Serrano Hotel + Spa, Villa Serrano
Route: The marathon follows a point-to-point course primarily within Torres del Paine National Park, exiting the park with 3km remaining to the shared finish at Rio Serrano Hotel + Spa
Key Landmarks: Participants will pass through diverse ecosystems, potentially encountering over 100 bird species, 25 mammal species, and 270 plant species. Wildlife sightings may include condors, guanacos, foxes, huemul deer, and, with luck the elusive puma.
Finish Line and Festival
Finsh line: Rio Serrano Hotel + Spa, Villa Serrano
Post-Race Festival: After crossing the finish line, participants can enjoy an entertaining festival with beer, giftsm and lots of fun.
