Paris Marathon Course Outline
The Paris Marathon offers runners an unforgettable journey through on of the worlds most beautiful cities. The course begins on the Avenue des Champs-Elysees, near the Arc de Triomphe, with a spectacular view of Paris’ grandest boulevard. From here, runners head downhill toward Place de la Concorde before making their way along the banks of the River Seine.
Kilometers 0-5: After leaving the Champs-Elysees, runners pass the Louvre Museum and Palais Garnier before heading toward Place de la Bastille.
Kilometers 6-10: Entering Bois de Vincennes, a serene park on the eastern edge of the city, participants enjoy flat, shaded paths through lush greenery, passing the historic Chateau de Vincennes.
Kilometers 11-20: The course exits the park and returns to the bustling city streets, heading toward the River Seine, with views of the Notre-Dame Cathedral and the picturesque riverside.
Kilometers 21-30: As runners cross the halfway point, they encounter some of the city’s most iconic landmarks, including the Musee d’Orsay and the Eiffel Tower. The atmosphere along the Seine is electric, with cheering spectators and lively entertainment.
Kilometers 31-35: After crossing the Seine, runners face on of the more challenging sections as they ascend toward Bois de Boulogne, a sprawling park on the western side of the city.
Kilometers 36-42.2: The final stretch through Bois de Boulogne offers a mix of shaded paths and open roads, leading runners toward the finish line near the Arc de Triomphe on Avenue Foch.
