About the Destination
Prague, the capital city of the Czech Republic, has been likened to Paris for its charm and elegance. The Vlatava River bisects the city into east and west halves connected by 20 bridges. The most famous of these is the romantic Charles Bridge which is remarkable for the 30 statues that line the bridge and the three Gothic-style towers, two at one end and one at the other. The architecture alone is enough to make this one of the most interesting cities in Eastern Europe featuring Baroque, Gothic, and Romanesque buildings. Other attractions not to be missed are the ancient Prague Castle, constructed in the 9th century, the Jewish Quarter, and the Old Town, which is still a central gathering place.
